2021 HCAC Men’s Soccer Championship Preview

CARMEL, Ind. – The 2021 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) men’s soccer championships field is set, with opening rounds slated to start October 30 and the Championship to be contested on November 6.

Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology finished the 2021 slate with an unblemished 9-0 mark in league play to claim the regular season title and No. 1 seed heading into the tournament. Hanover College finished with 24 points in conference play with their lone loss coming at the hands of the Fightin’ Engineers, snagging the No. 2 seed, and the other first-round bye in the HCAC tournament.
 
Anderson University finished with a conference mark of 5-2-2 to pick up the No. 3 seed and will host the No. 6 seeded Bluffton University in the first-round. The Beavers punched their ticket to the post season with a 4-5 record in league play. Coming in as the No. 4 seed, Franklin College’s mark of 5-3-1 earned them first-round hosting rights as well, as they welcome the No. 5 seed Defiance College (4-5).
 
The quarterfinal rounds of the HCAC Championship Tournament will be contested on October 30. No. 3 seed Anderson hosts No. 6 seed Bluffton at 2 p.m. In the No. 4/5 matchup, Franklin will host Defiance, with the game set to kick off at 5:30 p.m.
 
The top-two seeds will await the results of the first round of action to see who they will meet in the HCAC Semifinals on Nov. 3. The No. 1 seeded Fightin’ Engineers will face the winner of the of the Franklin/Defiance matchup, while the No. 2 seeded Panthers will go toe-to-toe with the winners of the Anderson and Bluffton contest.

The 2021 HCAC Men’s Soccer Championship will be hosted by the highest remaining seed on Nov. 6. The HCAC's Tournament Champion will advance to the 2021 NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament, earning the conference's automatic qualifying bid.
