Bondy and Golden named HCAC Players of the Week

March 13, 2018

BLUFFTON, Ohio - A great start in Fort Myers to kick off the season paid dividends with two Heartland Conference Players of the Week. Senior Ryan Golden (Findlay) earned Hitter of the Week, while junior Jack Bondy (Avon) secured Pitcher of the Week in the conference when the awards were released on Tuesday, March 13.

Golden blistered the ball with a .583 batting average for the week. He was 14-of-24 with 12 runs and 15 RBI. Golden ripped five doubles, a triple and a home run for a ridiculous 1.000 slugging percentage. He was 4-of-4 on stolen bases, walked five times and had a .656 on-base percentage.

Bondy helped Bluffton to a 5-2 mark for the week on the way to the best 10-game start in Beaver history. He had a spotless 0.00 ERA in 7.1 innings
spread over two games. He was 1-0 with a save, limiting opponents to a .192 batting average with four strikeouts. Bondy did not give up an extra base hit in
his two appearances.

Bluffton opens at Memorial Field on Saturday, March 17, when the Beavers welcome Wilmington for a 1 p.m. doubleheader. Come out and support your Beavers!
