Tyson Goings joined the Bluffton University Football program where he will coach the running backs during the 2021 season after handling the H-backs in 2016. A native of Latty, Ohio, Goings graduated from Bluffton University in 2001 with a bachelors in recreation management before earning his Masters in Professional Counseling from Liberty University in 2010. Goings is currently the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
Goings was a running back and four-year starter for Coach Carlin Carpenter and the Beaver football team. He was the Heartland Conference Offensive Player of the Year as a senior when he rushed for 1,487 yards, along with numerous other records. A First Team All-conference performer three years in a row, Goings helped lead Bluffton to its first-ever HCAC conference title. Goings was inducted into the Bluffton University Athletic Hall of Fame in 2014.
Goings, in his seventh year coaching the Beavers, comes to Bluffton from Lima Senior where he was a counselor and coached running backs. He directed a two-time All-State running back while helping guide the Spartans to the playoffs for the first time in over 10 years.
Goings resides in Bluffton with his wife, Andrea, and their three children, Braylon, Ariana and Jayden.
