Thunder too much for Bluffton in 4-0 shutout of Beavers

ANGOLA, Ind. - The Bluffton University men's soccer team fell behind 2-0 less than five minutes into the match as Trine pitched a 4-0 shutout on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018. Trine improved to 5-1, while the Beavers slipped to 1-5 on the season.

Bluffton kept the Thunder off the scoreboard for the remainder of the first half after falling behind 2-0 at the 4:58 mark. The home team converted a free kick in minute 58 and capped it with Nooh Aljabaly's second tally of the afternoon with just under five minutes to play for the 4-0 shutout.

The Thunder finished with a 19-6 advantage in shots, including 10-2 on frame. Trine forced five of the six corner kicks in the match, while Bluffton was whistled for seven more fouls (14-7). Freshman Hunter Fleck (North Baltimore, Ohio/Van Buren) picked up six saves for the Beavers.

Bluffton is back at home on Wednesday, Sept. 19, for a meeting with Adrian College at 3:30 PM. Come out and support your Beavers!
