Muskingum pulls away for 4-1 victory at Bluffton

BLUFFTON, Ohio - Muskingum University found the back of the net three times in the second half en route to a 4-1 victory over the Bluffton men's soccer team on a beautiful Sunday, Sept. 23, 2018. The Fighting Muskies evened up their season mark at 4-4, while Bluffton slipped to 1-7 overall.

An own goal put the visitors up 1-0 in minute 29 and that remained the difference until Mitchell Corey cashed in for Muskingum at the 54:14 mark. Tre Boger sandwiched his first two goals of the season around a Dalton Taynor (Troy, Ohio/Miami East) header in the final five minutes as Muskingum walked away with the 4-1 victory on Sunday.

Both teams finished with 14 shots in the match. Bluffton forced three more corner kicks (12-9), while Muskingum was whistled for three more fouls (12-9). Freshman Hunter Fleck (North Baltimore, Ohio/Van Buren) tallied six saves for the Beavers and Alex Foster (Howard, Ohio/Mount Vernon) delivered his third assist of the season.

Bluffton kicks off a three-match road swing with a trip to Wooster on Wedensday, Sept. 26. Kickoff is slated for 4 p.m.
