Beavers pitch 13-0 shutout of Grace Lakes Christian

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University men's soccer team secured a commanding 13-0 victory over Great Lakes Christian on Sept. 4, 2019. Bluffton evened its record at 1-1 while Great Lakes Christian slipped to 0-2 on the season.

Just a little over two minutes into the match, freshman Hunter Coffey (Wapakoneta) scored the first goal for the Beavers and started a rally that would end with a convincing shutout. Sophomore Dalton Taynor (Troy/Miami East) led the Beavers with three goals, all netted in a span of just 10 minutes. Freshman Elijah Grieser (Wauseon/Pettisville) was close behind with two goals for Bluffton.

Bluffton took a total of 42 shots on the game, while Great Lakes Christian only put up four. Freshmen Steven Liptak (Uniontown/Hoover) and Nash Morgan (Cincinnati/Reading) both walked away with two saves for the home team.

Bluffton's men will be back in action at the Sears Athletic Complex on Friday, Sept. 6 when they welcome D'Youville to the Dam. The match is slated for 3 p.m. Come on out to support the Beavers!
