The 2018 Bluffton University track and field season ended on a high note in La Crosse, Wisconsin on Saturday, May 26 at the NCAA National Track & Field Championship meet. Gabe Makin (Elida) capped a stellar freshman campaign with an All-American performance in the men’s pole vault.
The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference recently announced the spring honorees of the HCAC All-Academic awards for the 2018 school year. Twenty-three Bluffton University athletes were recognized for their efforts in the classroom.
Freshman Gabe Makin has punched his ticket for the Division III Outdoor Track and Field Nationals which will be held on the campus of UW-Lacrosse this week! The Heartland Conference pole vault champion at both the indoor and outdoor championships will take his talents to Wisconsin to compete against the top vaulters in the nation.
The Bluffton University track and field team powered its way to fifth place finishes at the Heartland Conference championships for both the men and women. Eight members of the Beaver track and field program were honored for their efforts over the weekend, including four First Team All-HCAC selections!
Day 2 of the HCAC Conference Championship was contested in warm, sunny conditions and was a day for the women's distance contingent to show its mettle on Saturday, April 28.
The Bluffton University men's and women's track and field teams traveled to Terre Haute, Indiana to the HCAC Conference Championship hosted by Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Friday, April 27. Day 1 of the meet was a resounding success for the Beavers.
