BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Beavers dropped both ends of a doubleheader to Transylvania, losing game one 11-0, and game two 12-1, as both games were just five inning mercy-rules on a rainy Saturday, April 27. The losses dropped the Beavers to 7-29 on the season and 2-12 in HCAC play. Transylvania improved to 22-10 overall and 12-2 in the Heartland Conference.

Transylvania scored in every inning of game one, capped off with a five-run fifth for an 11-0 victory. The Beavers had just two hits in the game, one each from senior Kelsey Reeder (Galion/Northmor) and sophomore Taylor Steinke (Findlay).

Katie McCord (Lawrenceburg, Ind.) got the start for the Beavers, throwing four innings and giving up six runs on eight hits. She now stands at 3-10 on the season. Alexis Montemarano (Brook Park/Berea-Midpark) finished in the circle and she gave up five hits and five runs in the fifth.

Just like game one, Transylvania put up at least one run in every inning during game two. A Caylin Morstadt (Delaware/Rutherford B. Hayes) groundout plated Courtney Jasinski (Englewood/Northmont) for Bluffton's only run of the day in the third inning. Reeder and Sydney Bowen (Convoy/Ctrestview) notched the only Beaver hits in game two. Molly Bollinger (Lima/Central Catholic) tossed all five innings for Bluffton, giving up 12 runs on 13 hits, while dipping to 2-7 on the season.

The Beavers will finish their season on Sunday, April 28, when they travel to Hanover College for the Heartland Conference finale. Go Beavers!
