Shanna comes to Bluffton University after spending a year as an assistant coach at Baldwin Wallace University (Berea, Ohio). Prior to that she was at Shaker Heights High School (Shaker Heights, Ohio), serving as a varsity assistant and the head junior varsity coach. In college, Coach Thompson attended Division II Gannon University (Erie, PA), where she was a letter winner, and a member of a 2009-10 team that earned the program’s best record (37-1) and only final four appearance to date. She had game highs of 22 points, eight rebounds and recorded a 52% field goal percentage over her four years as a Golden Knight. While at Gannon she earned a bachelor’s degree in Sport and Exercise Science. A native of Shaker Heights, Shanna graduated in 2007 from Shaker Heights High School, where she was a three-year varsity starter for the Lady Raiders basketball team, earning All-Ohio and All-Conference accolades as a senior.
