DEFIANCE, Ohio - Just one day removed from a weekend in southern Ohio, the Bluffton University Women's Golf Team headed north to Defiance for the annual Jon P. Speiss Memorial at Eagle Rock Golf Club on an oppressively hot Tuesday, Sept. 4.

Brylee Oberdorf (Green Springs/Clyde) paced the Beavers with a 102 and fellow freshman Abby Bullion (Bellevue) was just one stroke behind with a 103. Keely Briggs (Franklin) dropped 10 shots from her Sunday score, firing a 106, while Kourtney Kretschmar (Greenville) chipped in with a 119 for a team score of 430.

Bluffton will continue its busy opening stretch with a return trip north this Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 8-9, for the Defiance Invite at the White Pines Golf Club in Swanton, Ohio.
