Beavers break school record with a 786 at Stateline Shootout

HARRISON, OHio - The Bluffton University women's golf team capped off its opening weekend with a solid 404 on Sunday, breaking the school record for 36 holes with a 786 as the Beavers took 9th at the Stateline Shootout. 

Leading the way was freshman Haley Gill (Indianapolis, IN/Franklin Central) who used a 99 on Sunday to tie the school record of 192 for the weekend. Just one stroke back was Marissa Hall (Avon Lake) who fired a 97 en route to a 193 on opening weekend. Six strokes back was sophomore Keely Briggs (Franklin) who tallied a 199 for the Beavers. Sophomores Brylee Oberdorf (Green Springs/Clyde) and Abby Bullion (Bellevue) went 202 (98-104) and 205 (100-105), respectively. Freshman Grace Branson (Carlisle) concluded her weekend with a 113 after shooting a 101 on Saturday.

The Beavers return to the links with a trip to the Legacy Golf Club in Ottawa Lake, Mich., for the Lourdes Fall Invitational on Wednesday, Sept. 4.
