Goshen pulls away late for 5-0 victory

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University women's soccer team kicked off its 2018 home slate against Mennonite rival Goshen College on a blistering hot Sunday, Sept. 2. Goshen scored three late goals to secure a 5-0 shutout at the Sears Complex, improving to 3-1 on the season. The Beavers slipped to 0-2 following the opening weekend of action.

Allison Ebersole netted a pair of tallies for the Maple Leafs who outshot the home team by a 30-10 margin, including 17-5 on frame. Goshen forced four more corner kicks (9-5), but the visitors were also whistled for two more fouls (6-4).

Senior Skylar Liming (St. Marys/Memorial) fied six shots while sophomore keeper Sienna Sullivan (Columbus/Hilliard Davidson) racked up 12 saves in the loss.

Bluffton is back at the Sears Complex on Thursday, Sept. 6, when the Beavers welcome Oberlin College for a 5 p.m. start. Come out and support your Beavers!
