St. Mary's holds off Bluffton for 2-0 victory

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The Bluffton University women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision at St. Mary's College on a comfortable Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018. St. Mary's evened its record at 4-4, while the Beavers slipped to 1-6 on the season.

Senior Skylar Liming (St. Marys/Memorial) fired four shots, two on frame, while freshman Julia Gibson (New Carlisle, Ohio/Tecumseh) chipped in with three attempts. Sophomore keeper Sienna Sullivan (Columbus, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson) came away with nine saves for the Beavers.

St. Mary's had a marked 25-8 edge in shots, but the home team was also whistled for two more fouls (8-6). The victors forced three more corner kicks (5-2).

Bluffton is back at the Sears Complex for a 3:30 p.m. matchup with Heidelberg University on Tuesday, Sept. 25. Come out and support your Beavers!
