Transy posts 5-0 shutout of Beavers on Senior Day

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Transylvania University women's soccer team had too much firepower for Bluffton on a cold and windy Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018. The Pioneers improved to 11-4-2 and 4-2-1 in the Heartland Conference following the 5-0 victory. Bluffton dropped to 1-13-1 overall and 0-7 in the HCAC on a day in which the Beavers honored seniors Taylor Good (Napoleon) and Skylar Liming (St. Marys/Memorial).

The visitors put up a 33-6 advantage in shots, including 17-5 on frame. Transy forced 13 corner kicks to just one for the home team. The Pioneers were whistled for one more foul (7-6) on the afternoon.

Liming paced the Beavers with three shots all on target, while sophomore Abigail Newkirk (New Vienna/Fairfield) added two attempts for the home team. Sienna Sullivan (Columbus/Hilliard Davidson) finished with 12 saves against the Pioneers.

Bluffton will travel to Manchester University for a 3:30 p.m. meeting with the Spartans on Wednesday, Oct. 24.
