TIFFIN, Ohio - The Bluffton University women's soccer team traveled to Tiffin for a matchup with Heidelberg University on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2019. The Student Princes scored early and often in a 7-1 victory over visiting Bluffton (3-6).

Heidelberg took the first tally of the game when Mckenzie Perry hit a shot less than eight minutes into the game, giving the Student Princes a 1-0 lead. A strong offensive half for the home team gave Heidelberg a 5-0 advantage going into the half.

Tajah Upshaw (Lima/Lima Senior) took a nice feed from Maddie Huffman (Maineville/Little Miami) to secure the Beavers' one and only goal for the game in minute 51. A penalty kick goal and a score from Heidelberg's Amanda Sugrue would secure the 7-1 Student Prince's victory.

Bluffton took nine shots (four on goal) throughout the game while Heidelberg put up 23 (16 on goal). Both teams forced five corner kicks, but the Beavers were whistled for two more fouls (8-6). Junior keepers Jules Frazier (Nova/Mapleton) and Sienna Sullivan (Columbus/Hilliard Davidson) had four and five saves, respectively.

With the non-league portion of the schedule in the rearview mirror, the Bluffton University women will regroup before hosting Rose-Hulman in the Heartland Conference opener on Saturday, Oct. 5, at 1 p.m. Come out and support your Beavers!
