Beavers fall to #16 Ohio Northern in straight sets

BLUFFTON, Ohio - For the second time in 11 days the Bluffton University volleyball team went toe to toe with #16 Ohio Northern in the Sommer Center. The Beavers gave ONU all it could handle during the first two sets before falling to 2-10 (25-23, 25-17, 25-13) on the season. Ohio Northern improved to 8-3 following the impressive victory.

Juniors Sarah Heydinger (Tiro/Buckeye Valley) and Remi Bower (Deshler/Patrick Henry) slugged it out with ONU's impressive front line, pounding 10 and nine kills respectively. Sophomore Cassidy Posey (Paulding) continued her impressive play with four kills on just nine swings without an error for a red-hot .444 hitting percentage.

Elle Price (Findlay) doled out 20 assists, while fellow freshman Courtney Weekley (Butler/Clear Fork) picked up a team-high 11 digs. Brooke Kleman (Glandorf, Ohio/Ottawa-Glandorf) and Kia Rainey (Adrian, MI/Madison) chipped in with digs apiece.

Bluffton returns to action on Saturay, Sept. 21, when the Beavers travel to Trine University for a tri-match against the Thunder and #1 nationally-ranked Calvin College. The first serve at Angola, Ind., is slated for 12 p.m.
