Bluffton falls to Trine and #1 Calvin

ANGOLA, Ind. - The Bluffton University women's volleyball team traveled to Trine University on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019, but dropped both ends of their tri-match to a pair of formidable MIAA foes. Trine and #1 Calvin both secured 3-0 sweeps of the Beavers (26-24, 25-17, 25-22) and (25-18, 25-15, 25-15), respectively. Bluffton fell to 2-12 on the season.

Remi Bower (Deshler/Patrick Henry) provided the offense against Trine as she tallied 11 kills and a service ace for the Beavers. Freshmen Elle Price (Findlay) and Noel Ufferman (Marysville/Fairbanks) chipped in 14 assists and 11 assists, respectively. Chelsey Taylor (Hicksville) led the defense with eight digs.

Bower and Cassidy Posey (Paulding) powered the Bluffton frontline in the second match with five winners apiece. Ufferman handed out 15 assists. Brooke Kleman (Glandorf/Ottawa-Glandorf) pitched in seven digs for the Beaver defense.

The women hit the road again on Tuesday, Sept. 24 when they head to Denison University for a matchup with the Big Red of the NCAC. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. Go Beavers!
