MSJ sweeps Bluffton at No One Fights Alone Invitational

TIFFIN, Ohio - The Bluffton University volleyball team traveled to Heidelberg University in Tiffin for a non-conference matchup with HCAC foe Mount St. Joseph on Friday, Sept. 27, 2019. The Beavers dropped a tightly-contested three-setter to the Lions (25-23, 25-22, 25-18) on the opening day of the No One Fights Alone Invitational. Bluffton slipped to 2-14 on the season, while the Lions upped their season mark to 11-4.

Junior Remi Bower (Deshler/Patrick Henry) powered the Bluffton offense with 13 kills. Carley Lester (Chesapeake) and Sarah Heydinger (Tiro/Buckeye Central) knocked down seven and six winners, respectively. Lester was also in on three blocks for the Beavers. 

Noel Ufferman (Marysville/Fairbanks) dished out 12 assists, while fellow freshman Elle Price (Findlay) chipped in 11 helpers. Sophomore libero Brooke Kleman (Glandorf/Ottawa-Glandorf) led the defense with 26 digs.

The women are back in action tomorrow at 10 a.m. when the Beavers face host Heidelberg University. They finish up the No One Fights Alone Invitational with a matchup against Marietta College at 12 p.m. Go Beavers!
