Beavers rally to five set win over Pitt-Bradford

BLUFFTON, Ohio – The Bluffton University women's volleyball team opened the 2022 Sommer Center Spiketacular with a five-set win against Pitt-Bradford. The Beavers tallied their fifth straight victory to improve to 5-1 on the season while the Panthers fell to 1-5. 

Powering the Beaver offense was Alysha Like (McComb) and Jenna Woods (DeGraff/Riverside), hammering home 12 and 10 kills, respectively. Woods also found herself stuffing the visitors with five blocks. Adding to the home team scoreboard was Chloei Barnett (Wapakoneta) and Maddie White (Ashland), both smashing nine spikes each. Julianne Kincaid (Galion/Northmor) was just one off the pace with eight winners for the good guys.  

White picked up a double-double in the victory, dishing out 20 assists and picking up 14 digs. Elle Price (Pocono Pines, PA/Findlay (Ohio) added 13 assists to the stat books with Gabby Williams (West Liberty/Salem) just off her pace with 11. Mackenzie Jones (Oregon/Clay) scooped up a team high 19 pickups in the match while firing four aces. Emma Organ (Lambertville, MI/St. Ursula Academy) also saw four serves hit the ground on the visitor's side of the net. 

The Beavers are back in action tomorrow morning, September 10, when they kick off day two of the Spiketacular with a matchup against Baldwin Wallace. First serve is scheduled for 10 a.m. Go Beavers!
