Lynsey Trusty is the graduate assistant for the 2018 season. A 2013 Mohawk High School graduate, she is the daughter of Tonya Trusty who was a three-sport athlete at Bluffton University.

Trusty, was a three sport athlete in volleyball, basketball, and track in high school. As a starting libero at Mohawk High School from 2010-2012, Trusty helped lead her team to a 68-10 record overall and a State Final Four appearance. She received first team all-league honors her junior and senior years. Trusty was Honorable Mention All-Ohio her senior season. She holds the record for career digs at Mohawk with 1,414.

Trusty took her talents to Malone University in Canton, Ohio, where she was a defensive specialist for the Pioneers. She helped her team to the GLIAC tournament in 2014 while being named to the GLIAC All-Academic Excellence team in both 2014 and 2015. In 2016, Malone switched to the GMAC conference. The Pioneers made it to the GMAC tournament their first year in the league, advancing to the semi-final game. Trusty was the libero for the Pioneers and she recorded 648 digs with a 4.91 dig/set average, finishing second in the Great Midwest Conference in total digs and third in digs/set. She received Second Team All-GMAC honors.

In her final match as a Pioneer she surpassed 1,000 career pickups, finishing her time at Malone with 1,008 digs. Her 648 digs and 4.91 digs per set average were both the 4th in Malone single-season history, along with ranking 18th in the nation. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in both Early Childhood Education and Mild/Moderate Intervention Specialist.

Trusty, in her second season at Bluffton, is working on her reading endorsement and master’s in education at Bluffton University.
