Kaylea Jachno starts her second year as the head track and field coach and director of cross country and track and field programs. Jachno comes to Bluffton after serving for two years as assistant track and field and cross country coach at Manchester University in North Manchester, Ind. where she coached several conference champions in throws and one female athlete to both indoor and outdoor nationals.

In 2016, she served as an interim assistant coach at Indiana Tech University in Fort Wayne, Ind. Jachno was also an assistant coach for throws at Keystone College in 2011. She has spent numerous summers assisting with high school throwers near her hometown in Scranton, PA. Jachno also has volunteer experience as a track and field coach for underprivileged children in North Manchester.

Coach Jachno is certified as a USTFCCCA and Conditioning Coach and NCAA Strength and Conditioning Coach. With six years of coaching experience, she has a significant understanding of recruiting, athletics operations, player training and development.

She serves as a mentor for FCMP (Females in Coaching Mentorship Program). This program is designed to increase the representation, depth of knowledge, and advancement of female coaches in the field of NCAA cross country and track and field coaching in positions at every level: volunteer, paid part-time assistant, paid full-time assistant, GA, paid head coach at divisions I, II, III, NAIA, NJCAA, high school, post-collegiate coaches, etc. as well as create accessibility within the industry. This prestigious program is part of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) which is a professional association representing men's and women's cross country and track & field coaches in the United States.

A graduate of Ashland University, Jachno competed for the Eagles as an NCAA DII thrower in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. She and her husband, Lukas, the head swimming and diving coach at Tiffin University, reside in Findlay.
