Kaela Kovanda is entering her second year as a graduate assistant for the Bluffton University Women’s Soccer program. She graduated from Malone University in Canton, Ohio, in December 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Exercise Science.

Kovanda was a center back for four years at Malone University (NCAA DII) where she was captain. She earned a full academic and athletic scholarship at Malone. Kovanda was the team MVP while securing multiple defensive MVP awards during her career at Malone. She scored the game-winning goal against Malone’s rival to send the Pioneers into the conference tournament for the first time ever!

Prior to Malone, she graduated from Marysville High School (OHSAA DI) where she was a four-year varsity letter winner. She was captain for her varsity team and received multiple all-conference accolades before being voted a top 12 player in central Columbus her senior year of high school.

Kovanda played for the Columbus Crew Juniors Gold team where she was captain for five years. She also played for the Ohio Premier ECNL team where she traveled throughout the country.
