Welker named HCAC Player of the Week

BLUFFTON, Ohio - Senior Brady Welker (Delphos/Jefferson) has been named the Heartland Conference Defensive Player of the Week for his work at Manchester on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022.

Welker finished with 10 stops and two fumble recoveries, one of which he returned over 50 yards and was capped by a Bluffton touchdown as the Beavers defeated Manchester 46-44 in five overtimes on Saturday at North Manchester, Ind.

He is the second Beaver to be named HCAC Player of the Week in football this season. Jake Baumgartner (Toledo/Start) was accorded that honor following the Kenyon game in September when he drilled all three of his PAT's and a 37-yard field goal.

Bluffton will be back on the road this Saturday, Oct. 29, when the Beavers travel to HCAC-favorite Mount St. Joseph for a 1:30 p.m. start in Cincinnati.
