ALBION, Mich. - The Bluffton University men's soccer team came up just short as host Albion College took the season opener with a 1-0 shutout on Friday, Sept. 1, 2023.

Bluffton finished with a commanding 11-4 shot advantage, but the Britons made one count with a Brett Swaton goal in minute 30. Elijah Zimmerman (Archbold) and Benjamin Davidson (Greenville) finished with five of Bluffton's attempts on Friday night.

The Beavers forced three more corner kicks (7-4) and fouled five fewer times (15-10) in the 2023 season lidlifter. However, they were saddled with three yellow cards in the road matchup.

Bluffton will be back in Michigan on Sunday, Sept. 3, when the Beavers travel to Olivet College for a Big Noon Kickoff.
