St. Francis too much in 9-1 win over Beavers

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The St. Francis Cougars were too much on Wednesday night as the Bluffton University men's soccer team dropped a 9-1 decision under the lights. The Beavers fell to 4-3, while USF from the NAIA upped its mark to 7-2.

The home team scored five times in the first half and added four more following a Jackson Clark (Mount Blanchard/Riverdale) tally early in the second stanza. Clark led the Beavers with three shots.

St. Francis finished with a 25-9 edge in shots, including 20-3 on target. The Cougars forced 10 of the 12 corner kicks and they were whistled for six more fouls (12-6).

Bluffton will return to action next Wednesday, Sept. 27, when they welcome Transylvania University for the Heartland Conference opener. Kickoff at the Sears Complex is set for 3:30 p.m.
