Bluffton opens 2007 at Defiance College

DEFIANCE, Ohio - The Bluffton University men's and women's cross country teams traveled to Defiance for the annual Defiance College Invitational. The men placed sixth out of six teams, while the women placed fourth out of six teams.

Senior Hillary Shilosio (Eldoret, Kenya) led the Bluffton University's men's team in the 8k race, placing 27th overall with a time of 31:24.15. Following Shilosio was Brian Timpe (Wauseon/Pike-Delta-York), who crossed the line at 32:10.22, placing 31st overall. The men's time averaged a time of 33:46.34.

Senior Sarah Humphrey (Upper Sandusky/Upper Sandusky) led the women's squad, placing 11th overall in the 5k race, crosing the line at 21:00.77. Ariana Frangos (Hudson/Twinsburg) and Bree Fetterman (North Royalton/Padua) followed behind Humprey, as they ended up 18th (22:20.53) and 21st (22:59.39). The women's squad averaged a time of 23:13.65 as a team.

The Beavers return to action Saturday, September 15, when they travel to the Friendship Invitational at Cedarville University.
