Bluffton competes in All-Ohio meet

DELAWARE, Ohio - The Bluffton University cross country teams traveled to Ohio Wesleyan University on Friday, October 5, to compete in the 2007 All-Ohio Championships. Bluffton's women placed 17th out of 22 Division III teams, while the men finished 19th out of 20 Division III teams. Case Western claimed the DIII women's title while Ohio Northern won its first All-Ohio title on the men's side for Division III.

Senior SARAH HUMPHREY (Upper Sandusky/Upper Sandusky) paced the Beavers with her 42nd place finish in 21:31.1. Next for the Bluffton women was senior BREE FETTERMAN (North Royalton/Padua) who completed the course in 23:35.4 which was good for 98th place. Rounding out the scorers for the Beavers were freshman ARIANA FRANGOS (24:22.3), sophomore SARAH BINKLEY (26:15.4) and sophomore BROOKE HABRUN (27:26.7).

Leading the way for the Bluffton men was HILLARY SHILOSIO (Eldoret, Kenya). His time of 31:32.3 put him in 102nd place. Senior PETE HUSTED (Carrollton/Carrollton) ran a strong race for the Beavers as his time of 32:25.4 was the second fastest on the team. Following Husted to the line was freshman BRIAN TIMPE (Wauseon/Pike-Delta-York) who finished in 33:43.5 for 113th place. Freshman BEN ALTHAUS (Delhi, NY/Delhi) and sophomore BEN SIEBERT(Celina/Celina) finished in 36:08.0 and 37:09.8, respectively.

The Beavers return to action on Friday, Oct. 12, when they will compete at the Wilmington Fall Classic. The meet is scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m.
