Lange named HCAC Player of the Week

Bluffton College freshman Allison Lange (Archbold/Archbold H.S.) has been named the softball player-of-the-week in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference for her efforts in Bluffton's two games last week.

Lange, Bluffton's centerfielder, led the Beavers to a double-header sweep of Adrian College on Wednesday with a 5-for-7 performance at the plate with a double and two runs scored. In the opener, Lange doubled and finished 2-for-3 with a run scored as Bluffton won 4-1. Then in the nightcap she was 3-for-4 and scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning as the Beavers won 6-5.

Lange has started all 10 games so far this season for Bluffton and is currently batting .296. She leads the squad in hits with eight, doubles with three and has fashioned a .407 slugging percentage, .345 on base percentage and a perfect 1.00 fielding percentage.

Bluffton will host Thomas More College on Wednesday in a double-header beginning at 3 p.m.
