KISSIMMEE, Fla. - The Bluffton University softball team (4-2) picked up one win and a loss in their last day of the Rebel Spring Games on March 11. The Beavers defeated Maryville 1-0 and lost to Muskingum 6-3.

Junior pitcher SARAH BETTS (Bryan/Bryan) recorded her 39th career pitching victory in the first game to break the Bluffton University career wins record. The former record of 38 wins was held by Erin Kurtz who played from the 1997-2000 seasons.

"I'm very proud of Sarah and her effort. Her endurance and ability to stay on the field for as long as she does is absolutely great," head coach Holly Spann said. "I look forward to seeing her pitch for the next two seasons."

Betts posted seven strikeouts in the first game. Junior LINDSAY MILLER (Grover Hill/Wayne Trace) posted two singles (out of four total hits) to lead the Beaver's bats in game one.

In game two Bluffton's only hit came from senior MANDY SNIDER (Wapakoneta/Wapakoneta). Betts started the game on the mound with freshman TONYA DEAN (Kettering/Fairmount) entering in the fourth inning to pitch.
