Miller collects second consecutive HCAC Hitter of the Week

March 17, 2008

BLUFFTON, Ohio - Junior LINDSEY MILLER (Wapakoneta/Wapakoneta) was recently named Player of the Week in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference following her performance against Indiana Tech at Greenfield Central H.S. on Thursday, March 13, 2008. This marks the second consecutive week that the Bluffton shortstop has been honored by the HCAC as the Hitter of the Week.

Miller finished the week 4-of-7 (.571 batting average) with two home runs, five RBI's, two runs scored and a tremendous diving stop and throw in the first game against Tech that took away what looked to be a sure Warrior hit. Miller went 3-of-4 at the plate in the nightcap and she was robbed of a perfect 4-for-4 when her bloop down the right field line in the sixth forced Jayme Marbaugh at second base.

With one out and the lidlifter knotted at one run, Miller christened the newly-minted Blue Monster in left field with a towering 250-foot shot that sailed over the 16-foot wall for a 3-1 Bluffton lead.

The junior currently sports a team-high .525 batting average (21-of-40) with five doubles and three dingers. She has 16 RBI, 11 runs scored and a monstrous .875 slugging percentage.
