Brianna Gillig named HCAC Player of the Week

BLUFFTON, Ohio - Brianna Gillig (New Riegel) has been named the HCAC Player of the Week for her work in a pair of Heartland Conference victories at Earlham and Franklin.

Gillig averaged 18.5 PPG and 10 RPG as Bluffton went 2-0 with road wins at Earlham and Franklin last week. She hit 21-of-28 at the line (75.0 percent). Gillig was outstanding in the 69-68 come-from-behind win at Franklin. She equaled Diane Kempf's school record with 17 makes from the charity stripe en route to 27 points and 10 boards, including 17 in the fourth quarter.

The four-year starter moved past TJ Mills into third place on career scoring list with 1,213 counters and her 651 boards pushed her past Kempf, Kaycee Rowe and Lindsay Bush as the senior is now fourth all-time (651 rebounds).

The Beavers will be back in the friendly confines of the Sommer Center for the first time since December 30, when they welcome Manchester University for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff on Wednesday, Jan. 19.
