Women's Golf ready to build on record 2021-22 campaign

Senior Haley Gill (Indianapolis, IN/Franklin Central) and a talented group of sophomores have the Beavers licking their chops for the start of the 2022-23 campaign. Bluffton capped off its 2021 fall slate with a 6th place finish at the three-day HCAC Championships. A youthful squad that features five sophomores is primed to move into the upper echelon of the conference after a record-setting season for the Beavers.

Gill has been the cornerstone of Bluffton women's golf since she came to Ohio in 2019. Her 87.21 scoring average bettered the previous school record by nearly five strokes. Gill's 75 at the Bluffton Spring Invite is the best 18-hole score in school history by five strokes, while her 166 for the weekend is 2nd all-time.

2021-22 freshman Kiley Cline (Fostoria/Hopewell Louden) had a stellar first season at Bluffton, averaging 90.79 for the year. She established a new 36-hole mark with a 164 at Bluffton. Her 266 at the HCAC Championships in the fall is the top 54-hole score in school history.

Allie Waggener (Hilliard/Hilliard Bradley) made it three Beavers to check in under 91 strokes per round in 2021-22. She came in at 90.94 with a season-best 84 at the Bluffton Invite. Her 170 is the 5th-best 36-hole score in school history.

Shelby Stammen (Fort Recovery), Cheyanne Bolden (Sidney) and Isabel Miller (Dayton/Centerville) all made their debuts last season with Stammen moving into the lineup during the spring portion of the 2021-22 campaign.

As a team, the 2021-22 iteration of the Beavers piled up four of the top five 18-hole scores in school history, including a school record 329 at their home tournament in the spring. They also put four of the top five 36-hole scores in the book with an all-time best 679 at Bluffton. The 1107 at the HCAC Championship shaved 37 strokes off the one-year old mark.

Bluffton will open its 2022 fall slate with Ohio Northern on Sunday, Sept. 4, before a trip to Manchester on the 17th. The women will join the men at Allegheny College on September 25-26. Following the HCAC Preview at Defiance, the Bluffton Invite (October 15-16) is on tap to round out the first half of the season.
