Beavers take 5th at HCAC Championships

KIEFFERVILLE, Ohio - The Bluffton University women's golf team capped off its 2022-23 campaign in style, taking 5th at the Heartland Conference Championship on Sunday, April 30. The 5th place finish is the best in Bluffton women's history and the 1065 shattered the school record for 54 holes by 42 strokes!

Sophomore Kiley Cline (Fostoria/Hopewell Louden) got in on the record-breaking business with a 246 for the 54-hole weekend, taking a whopping 20 strokes off the mark that already had her name on it! She ended the weekend 8th thanks to back-to-back rounds of 79 at the Moose Landing Country Club.

Allie Waggener (Hilliard/Bradley) also came in under the previous school record. The sophomore finished the tournament with a 263. Senior Haley Gill (Indianapolis, IN/Franklin Central) wrapped up her outstanding four years at Bluffton with 90 on Sunday, giving her a score of 269 at her final tournament as a Beaver.

Sophomore Shelby Stammen (Fort Recovery) and freshman Sara Kroeger (Cincinnati/Mount Notre Dame) went 288 and 293, respectively.

With the 2022-23 campaign in the books, Bluffton will celebrate the graduation of Haley Gill who has been an outstanding ambassador for not just the golf team, but everything Bluffton University!
