Bluffton opens Polar Beaver Classic with a 334

BEAVERDAM, Ohio - The Bluffton University women's golf team opened the Polar Beaver Classic with a 334 on Friday, April 5, 2024. The Beavers are tied for 7th heading into day two at Colonial Golf Club on Saturday.

Junior Allie Waggener (Hilliard/Bradley) paced the home team with a nine-over 81 on a cold Friday afternoon. Freshman Hope Manning (South Charleston/Southeastern) was nipping at her heels with an 82 in round one.

Freshman Jordan Hemmelgarn (Coldwater) and Kiley Cline (Fostoria/Hopewell Louden) went 85 and 86, respectively, while Alyssa Begoon (New Madison/Tri-Village) rounded out the 'A' squad with a 99.

Sophomore Sara Kroeger (Cincinnati/Mount Notre Dame) led the 'B' squad with an impressive 91 on Friday. Chipping in with a 95 was freshman Gabby Green (Beavercreek Carroll). 

Shelby Stammen (Versailles) and Cheyanne Bolden (Sidney) carded scores of 100 and 106, respectively, at Hidden Creek.

The Bluffton women will transition to Colonial on Saturday, April 6. Day two will tee off at 10 a.m. on Harding Highway just east of Lima.
