In 1997, Bluffton alumni Lynn Martin '66, Rod McDaniel '66 and Hub Reed '68, became the driving force to organize what would become an annual event providing opportunity for alumni and friends to gather to renew friendships, to enjoy the game of golf and to provide financial assistance for special athletics department projects.

Funds raised through the Alumni and Friends Golf Scramble support university athletics through TEAM Bluffton.

2017-18 TEAM Bluffton projects:

Golf: Bushnell Rangefinder
Basketball/volleyball: Sommer Center scoreboard controller
Softball: NCAA compliant fencing
Baseball/softball: Field maintenance vehicle
Sports medicine modalities
Cheerleading: Tumbl Trak mat
Soccer: field audio system
Football: chains and down marker
Alumni Field maintenance program

Last year, 110 alumni, friends, coaches and athletes competed in the 20th annual TEAM Bluffton Alumni & Friends Golf Outing. Thanks to generous sponsors, there were proximity prizes on every hole, raffle prizes and other give-aways. The winning team consisted of Denny Thompson, Rich Bindernager, Jim Frisk and Jeff Deyling.

Entry fee: $90 per player; $360 for a 4-person team (greens fee, golf cart and lunch)
