BLUFFTON, Ohio - Matt Perkins (Convoy/Crestview) was recently named Player of the Week in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference following his performance at the Snowbird Classic in Port Charlotte, Florida.
The senior hurler went 2-0 in his two starts last week in Florida. He threw 11 innings, giving up just one earned run for a 0.82 ERA. Perkins struck out six batters and walked just two while holding opponents to a .186 batting average.
Bluffton returns to action on Wednesday, March 11, when the Beavers travel to Chillicothe for another matchup with Muskingum College. The contest is slated to start at 4 p.m.
