FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Bluffton University baseball team dropped a 9-1 decision to Hiram College on Thursday, March 7, 2024. The Beavers fell to 2-4 on the season, while Hiram upped its season mark to 4-3.

The Terriers opened up a comfortable 7-0 lead throught the first four innings before Bluffton finally got on the board following a Jack Towell (Springfield/Kenton Ridge) base hit that led to Grant Hovest (Ottawa/Ottawa-Glandorf) crossing the dish.

Hiram added single runs in the sixth and seventh, but all Bluffton could muster was another Towell hit as Bluffton managed just two safeties after winning 17-13 over Hiram on Wednesday.

Seth Altman (Hilliard/Hilliard Davidson) dropped his first decision of the year after allowing seven runs on five hits in 3.1 innings on the hill. He walked four and struck out two. Towell went 2-of-4 on Thursday.

Bluffton takes on Rhode Island at 3 p.m. in Fort Myers, Fla. on Friday, March 8, 2024.
