Bluffton College junior defensive lineman Brian Steiner recently grabbed a spot on the 2001 Verizon Academic All-District IV 2nd Team Defense.

A sport management major from Rawson, Ohio, Steiner owns a 3.57 GPA and ranked sixth on the team in tackles this season with 50. Six of his stops were behind the line of scrimmage and he added two quarterback sacks, a recovered fumble and a forced fumble.

Steiner is involved in Fellowship of Christian Athletes and BASIC.

Verizon sponsors Academic All-America Teams in two fall sports, football and volleyball, and accepts nominations on behalf of athletes who have met high academic requirements along with being varsity contributors to their respective teams.
