Bluffton College senior quarterback Brad Moore (Norwalk/Norwalk H.S.), a two-time first-team All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference selection, suffered a shoulder injury at Thiel College last Saturday and is listed a questionable for Bluffton's next game, which is Oct. 5 against Urbana University.

Moore's injury occurred on Bluffton's last play of the first half as he was hit by a Thiel player while diving into the endzone on a 10-yard touchdown run. Moore's touchdown gave Bluffton a 6-0 lead, but he did not return for the second half and the Beavers were dealt a 37-6 loss without him.

Moore's injury has been diagnosed as a sprain by the Bluffton medical staff.

"Brad took a direct hit on the left shoulder, which left that area very sore and bruised," said Phill Talavinia, Bluffton's head athletic trainer. "We'll continue to evaluate Brad's status daily and we anticipate a full recovery at some point this season."

"We are hopeful that he'll be able to play against Urbana on October 5," added Talavinia, "but at this time his status is questionable."

Bluffton does not play this Saturday, Sept. 27, but will return to action on October 5 for homecoming against Urbana University at 1:30 p.m. in Salzman Stadium.

Bluffton's backup quarterback, freshman Jared Owens (Van Wert/Crestview H.S.) was unavailable Saturday due to a similar shoulder injury suffered in the pre-season.
