Bluffton College senior defensive standouts Cam Staley (Lima, Ohio/Bath H.S.) and Brian Steiner (Rawson, Ohio/Cory-Rawson H.S.) have received Verizon Academic All-District IV honors.

Staley, a criminal justice and communications double major, owns a 3.69 grade point average and was named to the third-team defensive unit. A two-year starter at strong safety, Staley led the Bluffton defense this season with four interceptions, was second on the team with eight pass break-ups and was fourth on the team with 61 tackles.

Steiner, a sport management major, owns a 3.57 GPA and was named to the second-team defensive unit for the second straight season. A three-year starter at defensive end, Steiner collected 50 tackles this season, which ranked seventh on the team, and three of those tackles were behind the line of scrimmage. He added one pass break-up on the year.

Verizon sponsors academic all-district teams in many sports and members of the College Sports Information Directors of America nominate and vote on the teams. District IV is comprised of Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky and Tennessee.
