Chiles and Burkholder named HCAC Players of the Week

BLUFFTON, Ohio - Bluffton football players Matt Chiles (Sidney/Sidney) and Seth Burkholder (Pandora/Bluffton) have been named Heartland Conference players-of-the-week in football.
 
Senior Matt Chiles was named co-defensive player-of-the-week for leading the Beavers defensive effort last Saturday. The outside linebacker had a team high 11 solo tackles, three forced fumbles and one pass deflection in the contest. Chiles is currently second on the team with 49 tackles for the year.
  
Junior Seth Burkholder was named special teams player-of-the-week for his kicking game last Saturday. The place kicker and punter booted in a 39-yard field goal to help Bluffton earn a 17-0 lead in the first quarter of the game. Burkholder also punted the ball seven times for 287 total yards (41 yd. avg.) as he kicked the ball three times past the Raven's own 20-yard line. He also converted three extra point attempts for the game. For the season, Burkholder is 16-of-17 in extra point attempts.

The Beavers currently sit at 4-2 overall and 2-0 in the Heartland Conference for the 2004 campaign. Bluffton will be back in action at home this Saturday against Hanover College. Kickoff for the contest is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
