November 12, 2007

BLUFFTON, Ohio - Bluffton University senior Taylor Iceman (Lucas, Ohio/Lucas) has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Football Player of the Week on defense for his efforts at Defiance on November 10, 2007.

The senior safety picked up his first Player of the Week honor following an outstanding performance in Bluffton's 22-21 victory over the Yellow Jackets in the final contest of 2007.  He racked up 10 tackles, came up with a fumble recovery and picked off Hans Vetter with 1:55 to play, preserving the Beavers' first victory of the season over long-time rival Defiance College.

Iceman ended the season with 84 tackles and a team-high six interceptions. For his career, he tallied 222 tackles, including 88 solos, to go along with his 14 interceptions, the fourth highest total all-time at Bluffton.
