Antwane Miller named Player of Week in HCAC

BLUFFTON, Ohio - Bluffton University kick returner Antwane Miller (Canton, Ohio/Timken) has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Football Player of the Week on special teams for the week ending Oct. 26, 2008.

It marks the second time this season that a Beaver has been named Special Teams Player of the Week in the HCAC. Jonathan Thompson (Carmel, Ind) was honored after kicking three field goals and two extra points in Bluffton's 23-15 win over Kalamazoo College on Sat., Sept. 27.

The freshman, who also lines up as a wide receiver on offense, returned a Rose-Hulman kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown in the 42-14 loss to the Engineers on Saturday. He tallied 144 yards on five kick returns, including the 80-yard touchdown return. His average for the afternoon was 28.8 yards per return.

Miller has 283 kickoff return yards on 12 attempts for a 23.6 yard average. He also has 11 receptions for 73 yards, including a 45-yard touchdown catch against Mt. St. Joseph on Homecoming. 

The Beavers return to action on Saturday, Nov. 1, when they travel to Anderson University for a 1:30 p.m. matchup with the Ravens.
