Tyler Hensley wins HCAC POTW

November 14, 2012

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The game-ending interception by Bluffton University free safety Tyler Hensley (Batavia, Ohio) was voted as the HCAC Play of the Week for week 11. The senior was victorious after voting took place on the HCAC social media outlets of Facebook and Twitter.

Hensley's pickoff at the Bluffton two-yard line sealed the Beavers' 27-24 double overtime win over rival Defiance College Saturday. He intercepted a Defiance pass in the second overtime capped the win and gave Bluffton its third straight win over the Jackets in the series. It also propelled the Beavers to their first winning season since 2000.

The final numbers saw Hensley pick up 386 votes (57 percent), outdistancing Defiance's Leroy Cheatham by over 200 votes.

The poll was distributed on the HCAC Twitter (@HCACDIII) and Facebook pages Monday, with voting ending on Wednesday morning. This week's vote generated nearly 700 votes and over 2,300 page views in a 36-hour period.

All the winning plays from the 2012 season will be nominated for HCAC Play of the Year, which will be voted upon Monday and Tuesday of next week. Show your support for Tyler and the Beavers at the HCAC Twitter and Facebook links when they go live next Monday.
