HANOVER, Ind. - The Bluffton University soccer team matched up with the Hanover University Panthers on Sunday, March 28. While the Beavers tried to stick with the Panthers early, they struggled to heep up in a 5-0 setback. The men's team fell to 1-5-2 overall and 1-5-2 in the HCAC conference, while Hanover upped its mark to 6-1-1 on both accounts.

The Panthers came out quickly, stunning the Beavers with two goals at the 16:50 and 24:02 marks. The Beavers tried to answer but managed just one shot taken in the first period, compared to Hanover's eight attempts.

Unfortunately, the second half was almost a mirror image of the first with the Panthers knocking in three more goals at the 50:07, 59:05, and 65:19 marks. Bluffton kept battling, but Hanover was too much on Sunday as the home team notched a 5-0 victory of the Beavers.

Grant Ingham (Lebanon) and Elijah Grieser (Pettisville/Wauseon) led the squad with two shots a piece. Tanner Newport (Hamilton/Loudon Valley) piled up six saves against the Panthers. The game itself was very animated with six yellow cards being called, three on each side of the ledger.

Bluffton is back in action this Wednesday, March 31, on its home turf at 3:30 p.m. to close out the regular season against the Manchester University Spartans.
