Beavers leave Pitt-Greensburg with a 0-0 tie

GREENSBURG, Penn. – The Bluffton University men's soccer team started their weekend trip to the Pittsburgh, PA area at Pitt-Greensburg on Saturday, Sept. 17, notching a 0-0 tie. The Beavers move to 1-1-3 on the season, while the Bobcats sit at 1-2-2.

A strong defensive presence from both teams kept the game scoreless for a 0-0 tie. Bluffton goalie Angel Velasco-Urbina (Lexington, KY/Henry Clay) knocked off one shot compared to Pitt-Greensburg's six. Senior Dalton Taynor (Troy/Miami East) and junior Elijah Zimmerman (Archbold) paced the offense with five and three shots, respectively.

The Beavers outshot the Bobcats 13-4 (6-1 on goal). Both squads forced three corner kicks, but the home team was whistled for three more fouls (10-7)

The Bluffton men will be back in action on Sunday, Sept. 18, when they travel down the road to La Roche University in Pittsburgh, PA. Kick-off is slated for 1 p.m. Go Beavers!
