Ireland named HCAC Player of the Week

BLUFFTON, Ohio - Andrew Ireland (Coshocton/River View) has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his work against Earlham and Franklin. Ireland doled out three assists as the Beavers split a pair of HCAC contests.

Bluffton piled up a 12-2 advantage in shots during the opening half vs. Earlham, but it wasn't until an Andrew Ireland free kick found Alex Brown (Delaware/Buckeye Valley) at the 47-minute mark that the Beavers cracked the scoreboard. Less than three minutes later it was deja vu when Ireland connected with Benjamin Davidson (Greenville) for a 2-0 lead. Ireland assisted both goals as the Beavers downed the Quakers under the lights Wednesday night.

The Bluffton men are back at the Sears Complex for their fourth straight match on Wednesday, Oct. 18, when long-time rival Defiance College makes the 50-mile trip. Kick-off is slated for 3:30 p.m.
