TIFFIN, Ohio- The Beavers laid it all on the track at the Tiffin Revolution Classic on Saturday, Jan. 23. After a quick turnaround from last weekend's meet at Rose-Hulman, the Beavers gave it their all against tough NCAA DII and NAIA competition.

Holding his own in the men's triple jump was junior Brandon James (Waynesfield/Waynesfield-Goshen) who took 3rd in the finals with a jump of 12.56m.

When asked about the distance athlete's performances, assistant coach Logan Wells said, "Our distance athletes performed well against some very strong Division II competition. This weekend was another step in the right direction, and I expect us to keep getting better as we move forward."

Freshman Desmond Gist (Detroit, Mich./Trenton) attacked the track during the men's 60-meter hurdles on Saturday, placing 8th with a time of 8.88. "After a successful protest for impediment during the men's 60-meter hurdle prelims, Gist showed great resilience by coming back and running a strong race as the only runner on the track," said Darrell Briggs, assistant track and field coach, who works with the hurdlers. "It was a moment that he could've been mad and folded under the pressure, but he went out and attacked the race and I was proud of the way he handled the whole situation."

Overall, the meet was a step in the right direction for the Beavers as they continue training for the conference meet which is slated for Saturday, Feb. 20.

Bluffton will continue to train this week before returning to Tiffin for the Dragon Invite on Friday, Feb. 5, and Saturday, Feb. 6.
