Bluffton tunes up HCAC Indoor at Hartpence Invitational

DEFIANCE, Ohio - On Friday, Feb. 12, the Beavers hit the road with a small contingent to do a pre-conference tuneup in Defiance. The Beavers gave it their all and had a quality showing at the John Hartpence Invitational.

Sophomore Justine Lesniewski (Mantua/Crestwood) had a stellar performance Friday night, winning both the women's 800 meter run with a time of 2:43 and the women's 1-mile run with a time of 5:58.

Also tearing up the track was freshman Ethan Ly (Celina) winning the men's 800 meter run with a time of 2:06 as well as winning the men's 1-mile run with a time of 4:44.

In the women's shot put, senior Stephanie Fox (Pickerington/Central) blew away the competition with a throw of 10.97 meters.

Also winning her event was sophomore Emma Payne (Hicksville) in the women's weight throw with a toss of 13.28 meters. The Beavers went 1-3 in the women's weight throw.

Sophomore Michael Lindhorst (Lindsey/Woodmore) earned second place in the weight throw (12.32 meters). 

The Beavers are continuing to train as they prepare for Heartland Conference competition! The women's championship is slated for Saturday, Feb. 20, with the men's championship on Sunday, Feb. 21, both at Rose-Hulman.
