Beavers tangle with top competition at Tiffin

TIFFIN, Ohio - On Friday and Saturday, April 16-17, the Beavers traveled to Tiffin to give it their all against some tough Division II and Division III track and field competition.

Standing out with a new PR and a season best for the throwers was senior Stephanie Fox (Pickerington/Central). In the women's discus competition, Fox threw a new PR of 35.19m. In the shot put competition, Steph threw a season best of 11.30m.

In the men's 400 meter dash, freshman Blayden McCoy (Fresno/Ridgewood) tore up the track, earning a new PR of 53.97.

The distance athletes also had a good showing on Saturday. Distance Coach Brendon Moody was especially happy with the their performances, saying, "Nine lifetime bests were earned by the men and women of the distance/mid distance crew! We continue to make improvements each week and look to represent ourselves and the Beaver Nation well at Ashland and the HCAC Championship in two weeks."

In the Men's 3000m Steeplechase, freshman Ethan Ly (Celina) finished with a PR of 10:13.23, placing him 6th in the conference. Getting it done in the women's 3000m steeplechase, freshman Miranda Billmann (Castalia/Margaretta) set a PR of 13:28.40, pushing her to 4th place in the conference.

Junior Hope Nixon (Johnstown/Johnstown-Monroe) ran a PR of 2:44.29 in the 800 meter race. The men's 1500 meter race saw sophomore Morgan Adams (Dublin/Coffman) put together a PR of 5:13.35, while Nixon ran a PR of 5:34.53 and freshman Tabi Rollman (Toledo/Whitmer) finished with a PR of 6:04.38 on the women's side.

In the men's 5000 meter race, freshman Alex Montross (Perrysburg) raced a PR with a time of 16:20.19, freshman Zach Boch (Lancaster) also put up a PR of 16:59.18 and junior Austin Hernandez (Marion/Ridgedale) rounded out the PR's with a 17:20.96.

The Beavers are excited, but not satisfied, with their improvements as they are preparing to travel to Ashland this Friday, April 23, and Saturday, April 24.
